As the owner of Chicago Prime Steakhouse, George Kalkounos oversees the daily operations of an award-winning restaurant. In this role he schedules staff, pays bills, and orders the restaurant’s foodstuffs. George Kalkounos also assists the three butchers the restaurant maintains on-site, in addition to helping with the restaurant’s private events.

His experience with private events stems from his ownership of several banquet halls and similar facilities. George Kalkounos is the former owner of The Bristol Court, which he remodeled into a conference center that remains open today. Since 2017, he has owned Avante Banquets and Conference Center, which hosts corporate events, weddings, and banquets.

Away from his work, George Kalkounos is a family man who enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two grandchildren. He is also an active presence in Chicago’s business community through his membership in Leadership 100 and his role as a member of the Village of Schaumburg’s business development board. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and wine tasting in his spare time. He is also a Greek history enthusiast who maintains the humble home in Greece where he and his siblings were born.
